Caravel had a really good team last year and would’ve done very well in the tourney. If you can’t comprehend that then you know nothing about football. They should’ve played Tower Hill or Friends schedule.

I really wanted Milford to get Caravel on their schedule for the last two seasons. I think it would have been a great match up last year. Sadly playoff points dictated a schedule which Milford thought would be a soft Polly team, which Milford ended up losing to last year.
With Milford going up to D-1, they are now going to have 3 D-II teams on their non-conference schedule. IR, DMA and Lake. Would have liked to see them try to get an upstate D-1 team but sadly Charter was booked. There might be a shorter list for Packers season tickets then the amount of teams standing in line to play Charter.
I'm not picking on Charter, I'm simply pointing out the flaw in the system. The more I have thought about it, Charter was right to ask and stay D-II in football. Maybe it is the conferences that have it backwards. Maybe they should be putting their teams in conferences based on ability and track record.
Just some random thoughts at lunch.

Just looked at the Tower Hill schedule and sheesh... They should throw another Henlopen South team in before them. That schedule is beyond bad.
Their schedule is poor we all know that but they are a solid squad. I would be willing to bet my house that they would beat any henlopen south team besides Woodbridge and Delmar and they would even play those 2 teams well. Who exactly would you put over them? Milford? They lost 37-7 to DMA. DMA lost to St Es. Wow real playoff contender there. 3-6 laurel? Bet they’d make a deep playoff run. 5-4 lake? Come on dude get outta here with that. Tower Hill has a bad schedule yes but it’s not like they aren’t putting the teams they play away in the first 15 minutes of the game. Their starters are out before halftime.
Tower Hill is good enough to deserve a shot.. They have no shot at winning the title IMHO.. well unless they unleash Wyatt Earp and let him gun sling it
They definitely wouldn’t be favorites to win against about 4 of the playoff teams but I’d give them a shot to make the game interesting and maybe shock some people. They are better than people give them credit for.
People just know Tattersal is so old school he wont take advantage of a talent like Wyatt and will just run the same old same old and they dont like teams scheduling cupcakes to make playoffs.. To some degree I agree with them.. Challenge your team if they are good enough they will get in and be better off because of it.. Now scheduling puffs doesn't mean the team is no good or cant compete with the top teams it just doesn't sit well with the peanut gallery particularly those fans from teams that play in tough conferences or challenge their team to prepare them for play-offs.. I want to give TH credit for scheduling Harford Tech but when they did HT was a easy win or so they thought.. Tech jumped up out of nowhere the last two years and bit TH in the butt lol

Waesco** but I know what you mean and I get what they are saying it is unfortunate they schedule such a weak schedule because it would make them better and it would get them more ready for the playoffs. Instead, they do get a little shell shocked when they play a good team cause they aren’t used to it. I will say this, watch for them this weekend against friends. This will be a real statement game

Your right it should be a great game for the SPL but my money is on Wyatt that is if Mr Tattersal lets Jr call the O lol

Also scheduling tougher is not just about preparing for play-offs it about challenging them for life and being competitive and overcoming adversity.. Yeah its nice to make the play-offs but its more important the boys are challenged and face adversity and learn to deal with losing as well as how to overcome adversity and enjoy the fruits of their labor.. These lessons can be taught whether you make play-offs or not..play-offs is or should be a reward for doing the things I aforementioned.. No one wants a cake walk season into play-offs .. what does anyone learn from that?
The purpose of the game is not to make the play-offs.. It is a goal but not the purpose

Admittedly Tower Hill is a good team but somebody said give them credit. Credit for what? Playing absolutely nobody? They’re good but I will root against them because that schedule is a flat out joke.
100% agree with you on that whole scheduling thing scheduling a challenging schedule shows how good a team is. They’ve got a nice back in number 9 he had a TD 3 different ways against Conrad and their linebacker 58 Falco would start on any team in the state the kid just has a nose for the ball. If he didn’t play for Tower Hill he would be in the discussion for all state. He’s that caliber of a player.
Ridiculous..such a disservice to the kids..as well as a slap in the face that you dont believe in your players being able to compete against good teams..shameful, Would you let your kid play for a program/coach that believes in this philosophy?

Friends- Lake, Woodbridge and St E's and St Andrews stepped to Caravel for 2.. hey its better than Perkiomen, George and whatever tiny out of state school no one has ever heard of

Don't get me wrong I don't think you should schedule the toughest schedule you can but a more fair and balanced schedule.. Take Caravels schedule next year its challenging sure(maybe a tad to challenging IMO but they have to take what they can get) but they have a few puffs and thats ok to have some puffs as long as you counter that with some challenging games.. Now I am not saying to schedule games you have no shot in winning or will be way over matched in that's not good either.. CA fell victim to that last year but that is a different story.. Bottom line is there is no D2 team in DE that wouldn't take a game with Tower Hill if open dates match.. Hell its a nice place to play at. TH doesn't need to look to OOS puffs ..There is no reason TH shouldn't be playing Archmere, Caravel. ST Marks, St E's, or any Henny South team..win or lose
