The salsa has officially been dipped. Dixon and Kiss are both transferring. What are thoughts about where Mikey "Little Ragu" Dixon could end up?

Dixon and Kiss have requested a release. As noted, this seems a bit premature given that Dunleavy just named. Baker needs to change the culture of a program that has been a disappointment the last several years. Pretty clear to most folks that Moore was on a short leash.

From quchronicle.com: Dixon has reportedly drawn interest from Cincinnati, Nevada, George Washington and La Salle.

I would love to see the kid stay as local as possible (selfish on my part.) La Salle has like 5 seniors on next year's roster..... That means when Mikey would first be eligible he would be starting at La Salle. Now, he may think he is above the A 10 talent level. We know he burnt up the MAAC.

This kid has the work ethic and talent to be on the big stage, big East, big ten, sec, pack 10, big 12 etc, no point going to any mid major with his talent level.

Sometimes we see talent that others don't see. But it doesn't mean the talent isn't there.I agree EE.

Uncertain I thought when a coach is fired you become automatically eligible to transfer

Unc I thought when a coach is fired you can transfer and become eligible to play without sitting out a year but I maybe wrong

He has to sit out the year.

There have been some cases that if before a kid starts classes but has signed the National Letter of Intent....the NCAA will give a hardship waiver. A couple years ago Eddie Vanderlos signed with ND. Later, he changed his mind. ND would not allow him out of his commitment. The NCAA had a hardship hearing and allowed him to sign with UCLA...

You don't have to sit out a year if you are going down in class like Michigan to Delaware....or you graduate and still have eligibility to play as a grad student. Gonzaga has a kid who graduated from Cal and is starting this year...

Delaware is D-1, so that would be a no-go on the transfer without sitting. However, Quinipiac could give permission if they so desired. This is kind of like when Delle Donne went to UD after just a practice or two at UCONN. She had to sit in her sport. She did however play volleyball. All that being said, a reset under the right circumstances is not a bad thing.

My example was appropriate for a Michigan to Delaware FB transfer but not for basketball. In basketball both schools are in the same division.

I even confuse myself...

:) These things can happen when you stray too far off the reservation.

That is a maximax play for Mikey. Chris M and Mikey D. Hey, it's New York. If you can make there you can make it anywhere.

Chris Mullin got the gig last season, just have to wonder how good he is as a coach.

Entering my adult years in NYC during the 80's I can't begin to describe how great it was to be a St. John's fan. Big east as well. Now it's all about money.
