DSU moving down should not even be a thought.
Them using football as the money maker for the athletic program is exactly what just about every FBC and D2 football program does. If the school doesn't have a football team then a sport like basketball team does the same thing. Get whooped for a check. In the case of UNLV-Howard it was suppose to be a win-win for both. Howard was to get a check while UNLV was to get a win, and some needed revenue due to the HBCU's following which is why they hosted Jackson State the last year but we know what happened there.
DSU football budget is not high by any means so they need to be smarter in their recruiting. Way too many kids from all over the globe for them to be transferring out after a year or two because they don't like the team, school or Dover. I think they do not do enough in marketing themselves in DE and the surrounding states to where they entice kids to consider them. They don't need to offer a scholarships but even if they send information and interest packages to most all state performers it makes it looks like they are interested (that is really what mostly all these kids want. A majority of DE HS football players fill they are underrated and its easy to feel that way when the worst football team in the state won't even reach out to you. They would even get more walk-ons that way.
Coach Carter may be a good guy but this year (year 3) has to be his year to turn things around. These are now mostly his choosen kids leading the team; his first recruiting class are juniors now so they should compete in the MEAC at least enough to keep his job and next year his kids will be leading the way so it is really then all on him and his staff. They didn't look bad against UD turnovers did them in.
