I.R did everything in their power to lose that game, Lake Forest was able to over come a quick 10 point deficit but turnovers and silly fouls at the end cost I.R.

I am not one to complain about the refs & am rooting for Lake this year but Lake did not look too good last night & will need to play better to compete w/ the better teams this year & the refs blew a big time call last night. W/ about a minute left & I believe the game was tied @ 45-45 Lake was whistled for an over-the-back foul call that was their 7th & should have put IR in the 1 & 1. The refs blew it, allowed IR to inbound the ball instead, they turned it over on that possession & Lake goes down to hit a 3 & the kid gets gets fouled on the 3. While the kid (White I believe) was waiting at the foul line the refs & coaches huddled up then they allowed the IR player to shoot his 1 & 1 at the other end w/ no players there standing in the lane, he missed the first one & then they went down the other end & allowed Lake player to shoot his foul shot & continue the game. I’m not sure on what the official rule is here but I had never seen anything like that & assumed that once the call was missed/blown that you were not able to rewind like that. IR’s Coach is probably thinking that had they got the 1 & 1 when they were supposed to then the game could have had a totally different ending.

Lake will need to step up their game if they want to win the Henlopen South because on a night like last night Woodbridge would have beat them...Indian River is nowhere near a playoff team in my opinion & U can’t play down to the level of the competition in games like that.

Completely agree!!! That 1 and 1 call four plays later was horrible.
I don't understand how the coach didn't pick up on that earlier but the refs didn't do a good job last night. I know it is a difficult job but they didn't make defensive 5 calls, that 1 and 1 situation.

But yeah Lake does need to play better,
Any reason why Kobe didn't play? He was in for about the 1st 2 minutes and then sat the rest of the game and I think he is a just piece of that team. IR out rebounded them and I believe most of that is missing him down low.
Hoskins was held pretty well, settled for a lot of jump shots that isn't his game.
The point guard has crazy handle, too much so that it costs him and gets him in trouble at times misses plays down the court. I remember him going through the whole press on his own to dribble to the corner get trapped and turned over. But I believe he is a sophomore so only experience will help him.

I’m assuming Kobe is #24 & I was wondering why he never returned to the game but assumed he was hurt...he is a big part of that team crashing the boards, getting putbacks & defensively drawing charges. I don’t think #5 who started last week played at all, Hoskins didn’t start & had a bad game overall so Idk what was going on. And yes last night I thought Hoskins settled for way too many jump shots that were way off. The point guard brings a lot of energy & he should get better as the season goes on.

Its amazing. The same thing happened in a varsity game at Parkside on Monday night. The visiting team was fouled up 14 and was supposed to be awarded a one and one. Instead they continued playing and they turned the ball over resulting in an easy basket for Parkside. The refs then got together and refused to award the 1 and 1 to the visiting team.
In the IR situation, even though the referees messed up the first part, they executed the second part the way the rule book states it. It is called a correctable error and can be corrected until the ball becomes dead for a 2nd time. For example if they didn't realize they messed up till after the free throw and then the ball went out of bounds. It would no longer be correctable because the shooting foul was the first dead ball and the out of bounds is the second dead ball.

Kobe was having vision problems and decided to sit and Isaiah had an injured knee.
Jaysem is a sophomore and just needs to slow down. He will be fine.
Hoskins should bully the state and not let them force him to settle for wild shots. He will get it together and bounce back.
