The beginning of the thread asked for difference makers in the game. 55, 70, 53, 57, & 62 answered the call against bigger kids again as usual. Kudos to them and Reynolds the line coach.

lol I am sure MT knew what they were scheduling.. They dont have any designs on going there and not getting tore up. At least I hope not because that would mean the HC is a moron lol..

They took the game for the trip to Florida and to check out the campus and play there.. Unfortunately that isn't going to happen because they moved the game to a public school..and an old public school in an old neighborhood at that.

Not a bad field/stadium though

Hopefully they get the experience of the campus is cool as hell at IMG.

MT had a game schedule before the IMG coach ever contacted Blum. I forget what school it was now but it was "Baltimore something?"

It was around New Years IMG called expressing interest because they could not find teams that wanted to play. They saw MT HAD an open date and did research. Their thinking was "Middletown has been a constant top program in the state of Delaware, and they have never played a team from Delaware before"

Blum originally denied the offer because the game with the Baltimore school was a Go, until further talks with the coach from Baltimore. That teams coach said "being able to go down there, and play the nations top team (at the time of the convo) is a once in a lifetime thing for most kids from Delaware, and they can see how the national stage is set" so he voluntarily opted out of the game leaving his team with an Open Date so MT could go down there and play IMG.

Blum called IMG back to see if they were still interested which they were, and the story basically ends there. The financials and details in the travel would be later sorted out.

848 it was bad dude.. really bad didn't even try to open it up even when down.. Just like his last state championship game he was hell bent on just running Reeder up the gut no matter what.. Not sure what to make of BDN is he just old and wants to try and prove some point about old school football?? I at least get that I am old and stubborn in my ways as well hell I want things to be like they were also but damn I am not a coach in 2018.. Even I know kids deserve better than that

BDN is a good guy but his offense is so outdated its just plain stupid. He runs the same damn thing over and over - boring and weak.

No one is touching MT this year might as well hand them the trophy and think its the same with Delmar is 2.

848is right IMG isnt paying for everything this year like they used to do.. They lost 3 high profile games off their schedule because of it.. IMG realizing the money doest work.. I wouldn't be surprised if this is it for the "national" team

The last thing on there mind is IMG. They know that game is a loss. The game is for exposure and a once in a lifetime experience. The Sallie's game is the biggest game on their schedule every year. Trust me. I'm pretty close to the team. They are jacked for this game. Sallie's better bring some offense if they want to be in this game. Middletown 34-17.

Once in a lifetime experience? They are not going to Europe or Australia its Florida lol . Who hasn't been to Florida? From experience let me tell you how these trips go.. The players get to see a college campus and what not then they get to act like fools in their hotel rooms while the adults go out to Hard Rock Casino and party it up. These trips are more for the coaches, fans and parents than the kids .Been there done that...just saying and the exposure thing..please if scouts are there they already know who they are there to watch and that is who they watch. The only thing that is going to get exposed playing a team like IMG is your players aren't D1 material.. So in that respect it may be good for MT to be humbled and shown the truth about themselves..

Yeah I’m a fan of BDN but last night was awful. That offense is awful. And Sallies has talent to do a lot more offensively. It’s time for him to let someone else run the offense and give them a better chance to win. Middletown is a very good team though and deserves a lot of credit for playing a very solid game.

Sals should hire someone like Coach Marks.. The talent that would come rolling into Sallies would be unprecedented.. Assuming Sals has the financial aide available and according to their website they do, Imagine the guys they get now and other skills wanting to come to play for Marks O.. Sals would win a decade and be able to play a couple OOS high profile teams competitively

Although I agree about D2.. I think HVT is fast everywhere and could cause MT problems It may come down to coaching and I give MT the advantage there not Blumm vs Moffett but the assistants,, MT has like 15 assistant coaches lol

Blackie; they have talent at the skill positions. It just isn't developed. If Zach Gwynn were at Duck Creek or MT they would still be writing about him. That kid had all the tools, big, smart and with a good arm. When he was a sophomore and came in to run the playoffs, I thought he would be another DelleDonne. He developed very little after that. The kid was just under coached IMO. Gwynn wasn't alone .

Blackie? lol I am loving being the black guy. Truth be told I have always been black just happen to have white skin but none the less. I agree if Gwynn was with Marks he would have developed into his potential.. Personally I think MT was dumb not hiring Marks and going in house.. Not that Blum is a bad coach at all but IMO Fry would have benefited more with Marks. MT is good because their feeder program is good...Just like Delmars is,, Its a huge advantage to a HS coach when the kids come in coached up and ready just saying
