MT vs ST

ST punts on 4th and 1 inside MT's 40.. ST interferes with the returner get decent field position MT drives the field and scores 7-0 MT... MT put the ball on the ground twice but recovered both.. ST returner call for fair catch then tries to run.. backing them up

SO far MT on top of everything ST is trying to do.. ST committing penalties as well.... Early on ST being seriously outcoached and outplayed.. MT ball in good position... crucial stop coming up for ST D

TD MT 27-0 5:30 left in third... Time to give Mtowne some props on coaching... yeah they won with Wade and Godwin but they were still well coached beyond those guys positions. ,,, its goes into the MOT rec feeder program which MT gets many of them but they feed Caravel and St G as well ..MOT produces well coached kids and the MT high school coaches do a great job as well.... very impressed with the MT team and their performance tonight....

This might be Delpercio's best job. Not a star studded Middletown team but they play solid football.

I agree,,, just a well coached,, great game planned game. and the kids executed the plan so they get credit as well... not sure whether I am more impressed with the offense or the defense... I side with the D cause they shut ST and Kane down.. completely...

IMO opinion ST the coaches call to punt on 4th and 1 inside the 40 of MT on the first drive set the tone early.. They are a power team if they go and convert and score the game take a different tone,, They were weak in that instance and and never recovered... That and MT was well prepared recognized that weakness and took it to them

Actually they didn't punt on 4th and 1. They lined up to go for it and the left offensive tackle jumped! That made it 4th and 6. If that penalty didn't happen and Tech continued on and scored, who knows? MT was much better prepared and was mentally much tougher than Tech tonight. The play calling for MT was excellent. Their O line was very sharp. Tech was mentally out of it all night and that led to them being physically dominated. Kudos to Delpercio and his staff.

Not really surprised by MT winning but by that much I am a bit surprised.

I think every gave ST too much credit for beating the Sals which were IMO not even close to last years team. It was a good win last week not a great one everyone thought it was.

So MT vs WMP / STM winner. Should be a good game no matter what.

Deff and cc. I'll put my two cents in this one. Best program does not necessarily mean you have the best team. Best program is judged on the results of more than one year of play. And also what that program has done with the players it has. To me a great program does just that. MT has proven to be that over many years , especially the past 10. WP has proven to be the best team so far this year. Penn still has to get by St.Marks and then play MT again. We'll see what happens.

This might be the one issue I have to disagree with you about CC.

William Penn may have the best team THIS year, we will find out in short time, but overall as a program I wouldn't put them in my top 5.

That distinction goes to 1 of the 3 schools in Middletown; Salesianum, and St. Marks.

There isn't a time in my span that either of these three aren't in the playoff mix, yet alone championships. They do it every year with different people. Penn is a good team but hasn't won a championship in over a decade. What happens when Carroll and watts are gone? Will they be relevant again?

This is just Division 1, and I can even put Hodgson and Caravel above them for now,
