1 vs 2 (at least according to NJ) tomorrow...

I like Mount in this one by about 10-12 points. I don't think Newark will be able to keep them off the boards. And Mount will fired up at home after the loss to Hodgson.

Momentum is key. Mount's coming off a tough loss at Hodgson, Newark had to wake up against Glasgow, so neither team is coming in completely on top of their game. From what I saw of Mount, they needed their starters 1 through 5 to have a good game or else, so I'm gonna take Newark by 5.

When you consider Newark didn't start Turner or Drumgo-Sharpe, once those two entered the game, they restored order and they handled Glasgow pretty easily. Newark was down 10 after 1st qtr only scoring 4pts the entire quarter, by end of 3rd quarter they were up 10.

Haven't seen MTP this year so hard for me to pick. With MTP coming off a loss, playing at home, and Newark due for a loss, I think I'll give the edge to MTP, in a close one. Would love to be there. Need to moves these big games to larger arenas to accommodate more fans. I'm sure the players would want to play before more fans.

The addition of Kwajree Turner may take Newark over the hump and they sneak out with a victory.

As someone who went to Howard High and has been to the dearly departed Box at St. E's and other small gyms around the state, I still think a home-court advantage should be just that. How do you adapt to a loud crowd that's right on top of you? And Mount in their resurgence has had the loudest and craziest gym in the state for my money.

Whole different ball game if Earl would of played. Kids averaging about 17 in the last 5 games if he plays it's a total different ball game Newark wins by 10 without there best player, today will be the real test for Newark

Honest, but very odd statement from Coach McCants after the game.

“I just knew they would come to play after the loss to Hodgson,” McCants said. “My gut was just telling me that we wouldn’t come out to play. I want to congratulate Mount Pleasant on a great game, and I want to apologize to everyone associated with Newark High School. Hopefully, we’ll just learn from this.”
