So, DIAA has a 4 quarter rule for players in one day. Newark played two games on Saturday b/c someone forfeited the Glasgow game. The AD/Glasgow coach gets Newark to fill in for the forfeit, knowing it was against DIAA rules.
Thoughts???

Wasn't it a tournament?
If so don't the rules not apply?
last year Newark hosted a freshmen tournament and each team played 2 games

Not against rules.... The game was a forfeit. . Therefore the game Newark was just filling in for was already over. So game they played didnt count.. Just like a scrimmage.. Dont count.. DIAA has no say...

DIAA does have a say, but it's may or may not be against the rules please read the DIAA manual since it's was a DIAA sanctioned tournament.

4.3 Maximum Game Schedules and Designated Sports Seasons:
4.3.1 The maximum number of regularly scheduled interscholastic contests or competition dates for each team and individual in the recognized sports and their sports season shall be designated by the DIAA Board of Directors.

4.3.2 The third contest or competition date in a week shall be held on Friday (no early dismissal permitted), Saturday or Sunday. This requirement is waived when a school is closed for the entire week such as during winter or spring vacation. ??????
4.3.2.1 A team shall not participate in two or more different events at the same level of competition on the same day. However, a team shall be permitted a one time per season exception to participate in two different events on the same day. If a team
elects to use the exception it shall count as two contests or two competition dates as applicable toward the season team limitation.
4.3.2.3 Participation in any part of a quarter or half shall count as a quarter or half toward the weekly and daily limitations in that sport.
4.3.3 A week shall be designated as starting on Monday and ending on Sunday for all sports except football.

4.3.6.1 A school which exceeds the weekly contest limitation shall be required to forfeit the contest and pay a $250.00 fine.

4.3.6.2 A student who exceeds the weekly or daily contest limitation shall be considered an ineligible athlete and the school subject to the process stipulated in 2.10.

Somebody messed up!

Lol.. Watch. They wont say nothing... This rule dont apply. .. You missing piont... The game didnt count on neither team record... It was like a scrimmage. .. Smh

Who was Glasgow supposed to play that forfeit? Seems to me you have to get DIAA approval to change a schedule after the first day of competition? Maybe you don’t if you sit on the board???

Then Glasgow broke the allowable scrimmage rule. Also, if there was a scheduled game for Glasgow it should show as a forfeit win for them. Not there.

Must be nice to have Tommie on speed dial! Every other coach has to go through proper channels. Oh, that's right he's the AD and on the board. Still don't see how Glasgow gets a forfeit vacated and a new game scheduled in one fell swoop and on a Saturday to boot.

Haven't seen them yet, but I think it's going to be a long year for my home team Jackets.
