The first new MPSSAA tourney brackets came out today and though football doesn't drop for another 2 1/2 weeks, I'm thoroughly confused. The old system was fine.

Now it makes sense. I was looking at the brackets for other sports and was trying to figure out how football was going to work.
They may have. I don’t know. Haven’t looked at that since the new format was voted in but that wouldn’t make sense being the whole point of the consi was to make sure everyone got ten games if they backed reg schedule to 9. I have to look into it but I haven’t heard anything like that
Yep looks like the open tournament got nixed, Also Counties discussed the possibility of compensating teams that didn’t make the postseason with something like a consolation game, but ultimately left it behind.
That is BS.. The whole thing was originally voted in by the counties etc,, because teams were guaranteed 10 games .. Now 52 teams get hosed with only 9 games... This happens in no other sport because all teams make the play-offs in every sport except football under the new alignments and formats.. At least let them schedule a 10th game if they dont make it.. geez..like I said BS

Easton should play Harford Tech and be a 2 (Massey) to 11.5 (MaxPreps) underdog. Playing Harford Tech is the best matchup Easton could hope for at this point as they would be massive underdogs against Elkton, North Caroline and Parkside.
So it looks fairly likely that Delmar will get 2 bonus points from Parkside, but Easton would have to upset Harford Tech to get to 7 wins and give a bonus point.

The computers don’t know Elkton’s QB got hurt vs Oakdale and didn’t play last week vs North East but he wasn’t needed vs them. Elktons QB is 90% of what makes them go. If he is out for the Harford Tech game that game becomes pickem or maybe even favors HT. Just food for thought.
I mainly went through the exercise to figure out who Parkside was going to play. Easton is going to be an underdog regardless of who they play.
Also, Parkside is getting Yarns back this week so they will be even more heavily favored in their playoff game.

Actually they won't be more favored per the computers. It will be the same whether he plays or not. The computer doesn't know he was out and won't know he is back or even factor that in. Computer doesn't even know who he is. . just saying lol
just FYI.. Elkton QB Null back this week..He was back for CMW but went out concussion protocol and missed last week vs North East..cleared for this week

Parkside should play Rising Sun, a game they would be heavily favored to win.
Easton should play Harford Tech, a game they would be a slight underdog (currently 1 point Massey, 8.5 point Maxpreps, but that will change based on Easton's projected win and Harford Tech's projected loss this week).
