Sussex Academy at Woodbridge

It can't be easy to go out there and get your heads handed to you every game.

Letting that school into the Henlopen Conference is the cheapest way to get a few wins I've ever seen. They need to be playing a private school/non conference type of schedule.

Well, it's not like NCC where there are a lot of options for them to play. Travel needs to be kept to a minimum and they are a DIAA school, so any team in the State can play them. It's not like NCC where they have the Diamond State Conference to run to.

Looking at it a little further, their soccer team did quite well in conference play this year and both swim teams have looked solid this winter.

Delmarva Christian is making due and they are members if DIAA also. They are welcome to play any team in the state as it is. First State Military Academy is introducing a new sport to their school, wrestling. They are competing at a mostly JV schedule with a few Varsity events.
Simple, Henlopen Conference screwed up letting them in because as soon as they let another in, the highest population school get pushed up to the north...
Bastinelli knows exactly what he is doing, and the others got played.

That could be the plan. My question would be, what would be the basis for denying them membership in the Henlopen Conference?

They are a Charter school and have the right to deny entry and get rid of kids that traditional school can't do. Different playing field. DMA was denied entry to Blue Hen b/c of that reason. Plus once you let one in then the others follow. In Blue Hen you would literally end up with a Charter dominated "B", and 10 or 11 "A" schools...

How is that different from the tech schools? They can get kids from anywhere in the county.

You are right, and they can dump kids too, just not mid-year. The school I thought you would bring up first is Wilm. Charter. Wilm. Charter just jumped to a conference more in line with their population, under the guise of football safety... Whatever. Hodgson and St. Georges lost count of their kids and had to bump up, but they will be back down to "B" in 2 yrs. when they dump some kids and pay better attention to acceptance letters sent out..... Based on the Tech differences, I don't think they should be with the traditional High School either. A kid in Edgemoor is given state funded transportation to St. Georges or Hodgson 30-45 minutes away, has to apply/test in and can get dumped if they don't make the grade or are a discipline case. That can make for a radically different/uneven experience than the have to take/keep no matter what traditional
school.

I still hear that three divisions in football is on the table.

Not sure how I feel about this. I'm not sure if everybody was meant to be good in football. Some schools (like Delcastle) you wonder why they're traditionally bad, but you can look at what happened to Seaford as a town and understand why they aren't the powerhouse they used to be. Three divisions to me would be akin to participation trophies.
