Heard if William Penn wins out they are the #1. Plenty of bonus points with their schedule. Interesting bc this would put Sanford & Dover on the same side of the bracket and could potentially shake up the championship teams. Can anyone confirm if this a real possibility?

This is now a good possibility...William Penn is loading up on those bonus points with their in-state schedule playing Appo twice, Delcastle, Mt. Pleasant, Sussex Tech, Smyrna, St. E’s & they’ll even get 4 points for beating Delmarva Christian who will finish over .700. If they win out & Dover wins out it will be real close.

Penn has Appo tonight then Tech, Smyrna & St. E’s left while Dover has Tech, CR & Delcastle so one slip up could cost either team that #1 seed & Sanford will be in the mix too.

How does the point system work?
2 pts for a win

1 bonus pt for playing a team who finishes the season above .500

2 bonus pts for playing a team who finishes the season above .700

For example teams that lost to Dover, Sanford, William Penn & any other teams that finish above .700 will still receive 2 points just for playing the game even though they lost. Teams beating teams under .500 will get the same 2 points for that win.

A team like Dickinson’s 11-1 record looks good on paper but they won’t get one of the higher seeds because they aren’t getting any bonus points from the teams they have beat so far. Meanwhile Sallies is 6-8 but has loaded up on bonus points & would be a higher seed than Dickinson if the playoffs started today.

No, it doesn’t matter what your record is it’s all about the point system.

if two teams have the same point index, what is the next step on finding out who will get the higher seed between the two teams..? I’m about to do a rough copy of the playoff bracket
