St Elizabeth finished the season with two straight losses to Appo (10-6) and Archmere (4-0) after a 5 game winning streak. This is St E’s first appearance since 2013 when they went to the Semi Finals. St E has made it to the tourney for 20th time in history but have never made it past their 5 semi final appearances and their all time record is 16-19 in the tourney. St E is 3-6 against playoff teams beat Sallies twice and Newark Charter. St E is scoring just under 6 runs per game and is allowing 5 runs per game.
Sussex Tech started the season 7-0, but finished 4-7 the rest of the season. They beat St Marks (5-3) and Seaford (3-0) to end the season and get into the playoffs. Tech was 2-7 against playoff teams this year beating Dover and St Marks. This is Tech’s ninth year making the playoffs in their short history and are 7-8 in playoff games. Last year Tech made the Quarter finals and they have been to the Semi’s twice (2010 and 2012). Tech scored exactly 100 runs this year and allowed 100 runs, a 5 run per game average on both.
Tech and St E have never met in the playoffs and did not meet in the regular season.
