Damn, UA won? Who wrote the post to throw us off? Please get the facts right. Opinions are fine here, but at least get the facts right to help us all out. I have to retract my original statement about a good win for the Pandas.

My devotion to St. E's has waned over the season. Good teams know how to stop and frustrate Mayo. The others never seem to get rolling. The high stats are due to a coach running up scores by leaving starters in when the game is far out of hand. Their schedule is weak. They play Caravel, Conrad, Ursuline, and the better teams in the south, so maybe girls HS basketball in Delaware is just weak in total. Top 6 teams and then a huge drop off. Is the answer to schedule the top teams 3 times? Not really, but something needs to be done. a game like last night, St. E's vs. Cape Henlopen (60-24) is just unbearable to watch.

Wow, I was not at the Archmere-St. E's game as I thought it would be a blowout. Archmere has not beat a good team this season. I truly believe St. E's is exploding or imploding, or maybe I just thought too highly of them in the beginning. Coach Noonan exposed them a week ago when his Ursuline team avenged an earlier loss to St. E's. The 2nd half was ridiculous with Ursuline controlling the entire 2nd half. To me, it was an embarrassment. St. E's had 1 play - give the ball to Mayo and everyone stand and watch. We see where this gets them. On the other side, Ursuline was fantastic. Their fast break was unstoppable. They outran St. E's the entire 2nd half. Their defense was perfect, settling in and forcing the 3-point shots, which was about 10% efficiency. Maybe that's why there was a 20 point swing early in the 2nd half. Missed 3-pointer, rebound, fast break, score. Ursuline also got tremendous play from their 3 point shooter Brooks. Then there was Olivia Mason. Coaching the rest of the team from her end of the bench. Coming in for short stints and totally controlling the floor on offense and defense. I don't know the extent of her injury, it must be bad based on her limited play, but what a true basketball player - maybe the best in the state, considering all aspects.

Friday, is Conrad at St. E's. Mayo will shoot <10% from the outside, but get her 24. The rest of St. E's will be around 5 points each. Conrad will run them to death and Kuleza will go to the free throw line about 20 times due to slow feet and reaching fouls. I think it will be ugly. (Would love to come back here on Monday and say I was dead wrong).

Tom totally agree about your assessment. Friday is going to get ugly quick. I really like StE 5 years ago (last time they were in championship) because of that Hack girl. That team played with attitude and old school hustle. Thought they would have continued with that since they had 5 girls on varsity suit as freshmen and get time. Sadly enough you made a great point indirectly that no one does anything but watch star players shoot. No development. That's why you see Conrad who have been young now develop into a solid team. Still a three team race in my opinion Sanford, Conrad, and Caravel.
Maybe i'll be wrong again like my wife likes to point out.
