Here is one telling statistic. Only one ND assistant followed Kelly to LSU (a special teams guy). Most stayed to assist Marcus Freeman at Notre Dame.
Now, Freeman will catch some crap, of course. At the moment, most ND fans love his genuineness. (if that is a word).

My favorite Kelly leaving story is where he addressed ND players for the final time, delivering a “heartfelt” speech….and left to crickets. No applause, no hugs or handshakes. And the whole awkward mess was preserved on cell phone video! 😂
