Cliona Crammond’s Two Goals Keeps Goldey-Beacom’s Women’s Soccer Red Hot With 3-1 Win at Wilmington (DE)

Junior Cliona Crammond (Wicklow, Ireland) scored twice and Goldey-Beacom remained unbeaten with a 3-1 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference win at Wilmington (DE) in Newark.

The Lightning (6-0-1, 5-0 CACC) keep their best starts in school history both overall and in the conference going and are one of two undefeated teams in league play remaining (Georgian Court, 3-0). GBC is the only overall unbeaten team left in the conference.

GBC grabbed a 1-0 lead in the 17th minute when a 19-yard free kick from senior Amy Runciman (Luton, England) was tapped in by Crammond. Freshman Alanna Speaks (Wilmington, DE/St. Elizabeth’s) made it 2-0 in the 52nd minute, corralling a misplay from goalkeeper Kierstyn Williams and netting her league-leading seventh goal of the season.
