GAME OF THE DAY NORTH- Caravel at Sallies. Both teams have started off 1-0. Sallies beat a decent Glasgow team while Caravel beat a very good Riverdale team 5-4, by scoring 2 in the bottom of the 7th. Caravel won last years matchup with Sallies by a walkoff fashion. Caravel won this matchup handily in 2013. Sallies and Flowers beat Caravel in 2012. In 2011 the teams split games, with Caravel winning in the Semi Finals. This is always a good match.
GAME OF THE DAY SOUTH. Polytech @ Sussex Central. Both teams have started off 1-0 as well. Poly dominated IR 10-5 with Hanhauser getting the win with a 5 hitter and the offense scoring in 4 of the 6 innings. Central beat Lake 3-0 in its first game of the season with Mears pitching 6 innings only giving up 2 hits. The past 5 out of 6 years, this game ended up a 1 run game with Poly winning 3 of the last 4. Two of the last three were walk-off games.
Delmar @ Milford. Delmar got crushed 12-1 in its first game against Smyrna. Milford has started 2-0 by beating Seaford and Tower HIll. This will be a good test to see if either is for real this year. Delmar has beaten Milford the past 3 years.
Dickinson @ Hodgson. Hodgson has outscored Dickinson 35-0 over the past 3 years.
Cape @ Woodbridge. Cape lost its 1st game 9-5 to Dover but made it interesting with Dover scoring three in the 7th to pull away. Wood beat Laurel in a close game in its first of the season. Cape has beaten Wood the last three seasons.
Laurel @ CR. Laurel generally does not put up much of a fight in this rivalry losing at least the past 5 years generally by double digits.
Dover @ IR. Dover has won the last meetings of these teams.
Lake @ Smyrna. Lake lost its 1st game by shutout to Central. Smyrna won big against Delmar.
Seaford @ Tech. Seaford got destroyed 17-0 by Milford in its first game only getting 2 hits. Tech dominated Newark Charter in its first game but only got 2 hits against CR in its second game. But Tech has 7 recorded ERRORS in the past 2 games.
Red Lion @ Howard. Howard got 10 runned by Dickinson last game. Red Lion lost its first game by walkoff fashion to the newly created DE Public Saftety and Security. Red Lion beat Howard twice last season.
