Mount vs STG

Mount Pleasant will be in as the Flight B champ (above .500 record and in top 25 for index).
Sussex Central beating Polytech could shake up some bottom seedings.

You go 13-5 for starters. St E’s had a good record. Archmere, Hodgson, Conrad, Delcastle, and Dickinson were good enough wins. Then they get strength of schedule bumps from Appo, DMA, William Penn, and St George’s.

The websites4sports page lists 44 programs total. Being in the top 25 isn’t that hard. The formula is different than baseball.

Thanks for the insite . Need to change how they seed anyway. Their formula def needs improvement! I just saw with some other sports in Delaware you don’t need to be 500 or better, they go off of strength of schedule.

Just curious, what does being in the top 25 have to do with anything?? Only 16 teams get in.

No problem! Softball formula deals with strength of schedule and your own record as percentages. It’s tough to track. I think there is an online site the coaches can check.

Word is the softball tourney is going to 20 teams next season.

Five teams get automatic qualifiers by being conference champs. In order to use that, they still must finish at .500 or better AND in the top 25 in points.
It’s possible for a conference champ to finish say 9-9 and be 18th in points. In that case they would be in the tournament. The lowest team of the top 16 who is not a conference champ would be out in that situation.

Makes sense, thank you.
