POPULAR ACTIVITIES AT ADVENTURE FITNESS

Competitive Events Day. This is an annual two-day event that takes place on the basketball courts, handball courts, and golf driving range. Sign-up begins on March 15 and continues through April 15. The event is divides into for age groups. Group 1 is for adult’s ages 22-30, Group 2 is for adults 18-21, Group 3 is for young adults ages 14-17, Group 4 is for children ages 9-13.

Family Fun Day. Several Saturdays a year are set aside to promote exercising together as a family. The event begins with the speaker in the lobby at 10 a.m. (Flyers promoting the speaker’s topic and announcing the date of the Family Fun Day will be available one month before schedules events.) A healthy lunch of sandwiches and fruit is served in the lobby at noon, and at 4 p.m., there is a cookout with games for children ages 5-10. The cookout is held at the Cameron Pavilion. Cost is $6 per person or $20 per Family.

Monthly Safety Skating. On the first Wednesday of each month, the skating rink is reserved for safety practice. This clinic is led by a professional skater. Skaters can practice stoping, swerving, and moving around objects that are thrown on the floor. Members practice drills and get tips from an expert.

Handball Court Partners. On the board outside the handball courts, sign up for a lunch partner. Meet new people who have similar interests and get a partner for a game of handball. Reserved times are 11 a.m.− noon and noon− 1 p.m. Monday–Friday.

Spectacular Saturday. Do you like spooky stories? On October 31 each year, a kids’ carnival is held next to the batting cages. Food, prizes, and games are part of the fun! Members of Adventure Fitness ages 3−17 are invited to participate from 6 p.m.– 8 p.m. Bring a vegetable or fruit for admission.

Free Trial Week. Each year during the first week of January, nonmembers are invited to visit Adventure Fitness free of charge. Start the year off with fun exercise. “Learning to Eat Healthy” seminars are hosted every evening at 7 p.m. in the lobby. Get involved in the Adventure Fitness facility.

Team Batting Practice. Sign up your baseball or softball team for bating practice on Saturday mornings during March, April, and May. Choose between two time slots: 8 a.m.–10 a.m. or 10 a.m.–noon. Cost is $40 per team on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Cameron chamber of commerce, in partnership with Future Business Leaders of America and Business Professionals of America, is hosting a day of seminars on the third Saturday of June at Cameron High School auditorium. I have been asked to speak on business plans in a one-hour time slot beginning at 9 a.m. Your attendance at the seminar to help facilitate would be appreciated.

The attached outline and repot will be used as handouts. Please give me your input. Then I’d like to schedule a time when we can discuss improvements to the content. The outline and report will then need to be keyed in final form. Any error that I have overlooked should be corrected.

Please order portfolio folders imprinted with our business logo and mission statement. You can use folders to hold the attendees’ materials. If we have any pens available with our name on them, you may bring those for the attendees as well. I’m anticipating a maximum of 50 attendees at the seminar.

Amelia Simmons NCAA All American freshman team

Concord high school graduation Amelia Simmons was chosen to the highly regarded NCAA Division II All American freshman team.Amelia averaged 19.5 points and 8.8 rebounds a game for Wilmington College.Amelia,also,carries a 3.1 academic average.She interns at the state criminal justice planning agency in the summer.Amelia will lead the entire returning starting five from last year's playoff team in 2007/2008 season.Wilmington is poised for a strong NCAA run next season.

Wilmington College plays Bloomfield University tonight at the Pratt Center in New Castle.Both teams are fighting for a higher post season bracket.Currently,Bloomfield is one game ahead in the standings in the tough Central Atlantic Coast Conference.The game is at 600 pm.Food is available at the concession stand.Admission is free.The game against no. 13 in the nation,Holy Family, has been rescheduled for next tuesday at 600 pm at Wilmington.

DTCC is starting a JUCO college team and will be playing starting this fall in preperation for the 2008 season. Will be in a very competative league and woulkd be a good opportunity for some one to play college level lacrosse.

Wilmington College women basketball posted a big win over Caldwell College Saturday at the Pratt center in New Castle,Delaware.Amelia Simmons led the team to the win.Guard Jamie Gallagher had 11 points and continued her torrid 3 point shooting.Jamie is ranked seventh in NCAA II three point shooting percentage.Sherrelle Holmes is sixth in the nation in assists[NCAA II].Wilminton plays a tough rival Monday evening at home against instate rival Goldey Beacom College.Both teams, currently,have playoff berths and are fighting for higher post season seeds in the Central Athletic Coast Conference.Come out and see high quality college basketball at Wilmington College 600pm Monday.Admission is free and a concession stand is available for snacks.
