There is no comparison to the 2012 team. They were the best in state history. That defense was insane. Srgo was definitely a very good high school Qb.

I would say the best team since like 1980. The game has changed so much. I would like to see a game between them and the 1971 Wilmington High Team, Salesianum 1964, Newark or Salesianum 1968.
MT 2012 was best DE high school team I have seen since my time here.. also the highest ranked nationally.. 160 ish I believe. but to say they could play with the top 50 that year is a bit ludicrous.. De La Salle, Allen TX , Bellevue, Hoover, St Thomas Aquinas or even the MD privates Gilman, Good Counsel would all have tuned them up not to mention numerous, FLA , TEX, CA, NJ, OH teams

2016 Smyrna vs 2012 Middletown would have been a hell of a game.. Plenty of star power... Wade, Godwin, Baynard,Griffin, DiGati, vs Henderson, Knight, L Brown, Roberts, Hutchinson boys, Wilson.. probably missing some guys

You really think Sallies is good? They struggled with Sussex Tech... ST just lost to Appo. Come on clown, Middletown is gonna roll Sallies next week.
They struggled with Sussex Tech WITHOUT Kane. Middletowns defense is better than Techs. They will struggle in Middletown. If the game was at Baynard with when the Refs are on the Sallies payroll then Sallies would have a chance. Going to Baynard you can expect 5 flags from the gate.

I think the 1997, 1998 and 1999 Newark teams were among the best. Kawme Harris was 1st team All USA Today at Tackle went to Stanford, Orien Harris played for Miami, Brandon Snow played full back for Penn State. There was another D1 player who I think went to Michigan. I seem to remember them averaging 285 across the offensive line. They won D1 State Championship 5 years in a row including 2000 and 2001.
