You’re an idiot if you blame Milford administration. This was not a milford run event, this was a DIAA, and the henlopen conference committee run event. Milford admin had nothing to do with what happened and was literally there for support as DIAA staff did everything you saw. Blame whoever you want but nothing that happened had a thing to do with Milford admin
NOOO...Please tell me that is not what Coach Re said to Garnett after this was ALL OVER & the kid was walking to the locker room cuz if so he needs to be dealt w/ as well!?!?!? I know of plenty of places where he would not have left that gym standing if a kid’s peoples heard him say that. He literally sought him out & said that...NO EXCUSE for a coach to say that to a player/kid & if this is true his ass needs to be reprimanded too. You are the adult, coach & supposed to be setting an example for these kids. He is lucky the wrong people didn’t hear that if that’s what he truly said. It makes sense now that they would be telling Re to “Shut the f*** up!!!”...makes this entire situation even sadder. It almost comes off as cocky & him blaming Garnett for all of what happened tonight.

People are associating this w/ Howard because of Tribbett & what they don’t know is that those were Smyrna kids that Tribbett was w/ because he is from Smyrna & hangs out there while Garnett is one of his closest friends. There was even talks of Garnett joining him at Howard when Garnett was a freshman after Tribbett had moved up that way.

It was obvious how? There was one kid frm Howard there that I know of & he is from Smyrna. Don’t involve Howard throwing dirt on their name when they probably only had 1 player even at that game.
This was NOT a DIAA event. This was a Henlopen Conference game. The DIAA runs the postseason tournament, not the conference tiebreaker. Who should get the blame? How about the people involved? Dumb decisions all around, and it may end up costing Cape a very good shot at the title. I imagine the arrest announcements will come in the morning.
And to compare it to the AI situation last season, it was the Red Clay BOE that withdrew the basketball team from postseason consideration. Perhaps the Cape board will hold an emergency meeting in the morning to decide the fate of the Vikings. No matter what happens, it's time for some people to grow the eff up.
OOOHHH OK...I was so pissed myself thinking he may have said that. My bad...LoL. But yes clearly Garnett manhandling Cape on both ends was the root of the problem & where the frustration started tonight. Which I don’t understand because last game Rickards owned Smyrna & Garnett on the block. I asked a Cape friend of mine before the game what he thought the outcome would be & he said that Cape hadn’t looked too good lately so he thought it would depend on how Garnett played.
He moved up there from Smyrna a few years ago...but even if he still lived in Smyrna I’m pretty sure he could still attend Howard w/ school choice.
Remember the days when if you acted a fool a parent whooped your ass? Those days are gone. There will be nothing but excuses and passing the blame. I was more afraid of my parents than the cops when I was 17. Sad times
Any player that leaves the bench area and enters the court during an altercation.......ejected from game....and suspended from next contest.....all but the 5 Cape players that were checked in? Cape may play RD2 of tourney with only 5 players? A mess on many levels. Sad too?
Stop it, if these guys were directly behind the cape bench and coming out of the bleachers to throw hands, would you sit there and get trampled. Geesh
Hmmm...no. Unless I was like the 12th guy on the bench, knew the rule, and knew if I just hugged the bench until the storm blew over I could be a started in a few days, then, yes, I would consider a trampling.

Not tumbling down, Cape still has some players, just puts them on the same level with some of the other top teams. Plus you still have a POY candidate and the guards have stepped up their game. Still have another big body on the bench that’s been getting some playing time also
Fact of the matter is the game should have not have even been played accroding to DIAA rules. Dont see how a conference can make a rule that superseeds a DIAA rule which says
4.3.4 The maximum number of regularly scheduled contests for each of the recognized sports, except football,
shall be exclusive of conference championships, playoffs to determine tournament state berths, and the
state tournament or meet. Member schools are limited to one conference championship event. In
wrestling, the state meet qualifying tournaments shall count as the only permissible event in addition to the
regular season and state meets. The maximum number of regularly scheduled football contests shall be
exclusive of the state tournament.

The big boy from Howard (Tribbett) isn’t he on scholarship to play football at the next level? I recall seeing him in signing day pictures.
These days if you look at your kids wrong (let alone whoop their ass) the cops may take you downtown ...those old days are over & kids are more entitled now.
Man a brawl broke out on the bench & in the stands right behind them what you want them to do sit there on the bench & get mauled? They did not leave the bench to hop in a fight on the court involving the players. Some of you people are clueless w/ your comments.
@84rider Cape didn’t looks like the Cape team I have seen this year even w/ Rickards...guards did nothing & Robertson even looked uncomfortable which was due to great interior defense by Garnett & Veasley. W/ no Rickards they gonna have to go back to the drawing board & Re is gonna really have to coach his ass off.
Reading that not sure I see where the game should not have been played & this is how it has always been for basketball in the past...2 teams w/ the same conference record & split their meetings play a 1-game play-in to see who represents their division in the Conference Championship game.
The game was lost when coach Re started off with Robertson on Garnett and never adjusted until Cape was down by 27...
No one named Tribbett is listed on Howard’s football roster on Websites4Sports.
So why exactly are kids from Howard even there? To scout opponents for the playoffs.... But they won’t even be in the playoffs. All players involved should be suspended for the whole playoffs. One game isn’t nothing.
Just seen exact full video how it started... One of the boys that was with big kid from Howard kicked Rickards in the back.. Thats why he swung on the kid.. News only got what happened on the floor... DIAA has only 4 hours to figure out what they want to do before seedings come out at 2..
