Smyrna Little Wrestlers Registration / 2019-2020 Season
The coaching staff at Smyrna Little Wrestlers will emphasize technique, conditioning and sportsmanship along with having fun to each participant. These are a few rules we wish for your child to follow:
1. We must have up to date contact information for each parent/guardian, in case of an emergency.
2. Our goal is to teach the children as much as we can. If your child wants to play around and not pay attention, they will be asked to sit out for the remaining practice time.
3. We will not allow any bad language or have any child be disrespectful to the coaches or the other children, which includes bullying, biting, kicking, punching, or any other misbehavior.
4. Also, there will be no poor sportsman like conduct at practice or tournaments from the wrestlers or the parents. If this becomes a problem, you and your child may be dismissed from our program at the discretion of the coaching staff. We represent our program with class and dignity.
5. Your child must have wrestling shoes. This means shoes that are not worn outside. Dirt will destroy our mats and the germs/bacteria that are carried in from outside can cause infections within our wrestlers. Wrestlers are to wear sneakers to and from practice and competition and will put wrestling shoes on at practice or competitions.
Children that are in 1st through 8th grade are eligible to participate. Athletes are not required to be living in Smyrna or attending Smyrna School District Schools. There will be 2 registration windows this year - Tuesday October 8th, and Thursday October 17th from 6 – 7:30 pm in the Ron Eby Wrestling Room at Smyrna High School. Please enter through the rear garage door.
Our season runs November 1st through February 28th, with optional tournaments being held on the weekends. Please contact Damien Craighton for more information at dcraighton@aol.com.
Please bring a copy of the following: Birth Certificate, Insurance Card and Progress Report from school for us to keep on record. The registration fee will be $50 CASH for the first child and $25 CASH for each additional child from the same family. Our cash only policy is due to the numerous returned checks/fees that we’ve incurred over the past years. No refunds!
Please note - We are guests, there is NO SMOKING and NO ALCOHOL allowed on school property. If you are found doing such, you and your child will be dismissed from our program. Set a good example for our students!
