sr Mikey Dixon scored 21 points,sr Jacob Walsh added 13 and 8th Jay’are Davis 10 points as Sanford rallied from a 10 point deficit to defeat Chester 59 – 57 in the Fred Pickett Classic. senior guard Kyle Evans made 1 0f 2 free throws with 12 seconds to go and Sanford was able to seal the win with a great defensive posession to end the game.

In a first round game of the Indian River Basketball Tournament, 21 points by sr. Demetrius Jenkins and jr Isaiah Broton with 12 paced the Indians of Indian River to a 65-49 win over Delmarva Christian. For the Royals, sr. Micah McGee led with 23 points and so Liam Catron with 12.

21 points by fr Tariq Ingraham, 14 by so Paul Brown paced the Sals of Salesianum to a 59-52 win over the Wildcats of Howard. The Wildcats were led by jr Kineph Turner led with 17 points followed by fr Kwa Jree Turner with 15 and so Lamar Woody with 10.

21 points by sr. Amere Park Brown, sr. Jordan Blake with 11 and jr Ian Griffin with 10 paced the Redskins of Conrad to a 63-49 win over the Warriors of Wilmington Christian. The Warriors were led by so Daniel Berg with 15 and fr Max Ferrante with 14.

In the first round of the Tiger Basketball Classic 19 points by sr. Chetor Carter and 11 by so Kevin Dent paced the Tigers of AI DuPont to a 61-47 win over the Christiana Vikings. The Vikings were led by jr Lameen Carter with 15 points sr Tramon Jackson with 10.

11 points by fr Raheem Carter, 10 points each by so Ryan Sherlock and so Michael Sharpe paced the Newark Yellowjackets to a 68-24 win over the Cardinals of St. Andrews. The Cards were led by jr Malik Velmar with 14 points.

In the first round of the AI DuPont Basketball Classic 22 points by jr Jordan Money and 14 by so Chris Cropper paced the Vikings of St. Elizabeth to a 72-40 win over the Hornets of Tatnall. The Hornets were led by jr Nick Cutrona with 21 points.

Girls Basketball

22 points by fr Aniah Patterson and 11 points by fr Sasha Marvel paced the Ravens of St. Thomas More to a 47-40 win over the Lady Quakers of Friends. The Lady Quakers were led by so Natalie DePaolo with 17.

16 points each by so Shelby Bailey Smiley and so Kennedy Brown 11 points by sr Michaella Moore paced the Lady Hornets of Tatnall to a 48-33 win over the Lady Warriors of Wilmington Christian. The Lady Warriors were led by 8th grade Sha’nia Davis with 18.

12 points by sr Patience Harris, 10 each by sr Kyra Moore, sr Reeva Jackson and so Ashley Manifold paced the Lady Senators of Dover to a 57-55 win over the Riders of Caesar Rodney. For the Lady Riders, so Brionna Brooks led with 17 points followed by 15 by so Alisa Haith so Alissa Reed with 14.

The Lady Rams take game 1 of the 15th Annual Lady Rams Tournament and will play Delcastle in the Championship on Saturday. so Lynnjay Brown led all scorers with 31 points (6 three pointers). She also dished off 5 assists.
fr Kaitrin Kinsella connected on three 3 pointers for the YellowJackets for 9 points and six other players scored for Newark. Newark will take on Howard on Saturday in the Consolation Finals at 10:00am.

12 points by sr. Allie Salter paced the Lady Hillers of Tower Hill to a 35-20 win over the Vikings of Christiana.

24 points by jr Lauren Griffin and 21 by jr Al Kira Wilson paced the Lady Tigers of AI DuPont to a 56-47 win in the first round of the AI DuPont Tiger Basketball Classic. The Lady Bulldogs were led by sr Taylor Davis led with 22 points followed by sr. Ciani Hamilton with 16.

15 points by jr Elise Bastien and 11 by jr Camryn Howard paced the Lady Auks of Archmere to a 53-29 win over the Patriots of Newark Charter School. The Lady Patriots were led by fr Mackenzie Smith with 14.

18 points by so Mia Bryson 10 each by fr Ondia Brown and so Kaylee Otlowski paced the Lady Bucs of Caravel to a 63-39 win over the Lady Spartans of Lake Forest. The Lady Spartans were led by jr Arika Burrell with 17 points.

Sussex Central defeated Smyrna 36-33. jr Melena Credle led with 18 points.

17 points by so Kendra Wooten paced the Lady Green Knights of Mt. Pleasant to a 31-17 win over the Lady Lions of Red Lion Christian.

21 points by so Mia Cooke paced the Lady Cavaliers of Middletown to a 45-37 overtime win over the Lady Cards of St. Andrews. The Lady Cards were led by jr Camille Seeley with 14 points.

15 points by jr Aailyah Selby 14 by jr Caroline Procak and 10 by sr. Holly Panchak paced the Lady Raiders of Concord to a 60-35 win over the Lady Redskins of Conrad. The Lady Redskins were led by 8th grader Julie Kulesza with 23 points.

11 points by jr Rukiya Davis paced the Lady Ravens of Sussex Tech to a 48-33 win over Polytech.

For the Championship game in the 2015 AI DuPont Christmas Basketball Classic, 21 points by jr Jordan Money and 13 by so Christopher Cropper paced the Vikings of St. Elizabeth to a 62-53 win over the Tigers of AI DuPont in the championship game of the AI DuPont Basketball Classic. For the Tigers, jr Julius Inge led with 15 points, sr Chetor Carter with 14 and 12 by so Kevin Dent.

17 points by so Brandon Faulk 10 by sr. Shyheim Holden paced the Bulldogs of Laurel to a 59-31 win over the Royals of Delmarva Christian. The Royals were led by so Jon Von Hoff with 11 and 10 by fr Aaron Mollock.

Girls

14 points by so Lauren Bailey and 10 by 11 by jr Kathleen Woodacre paced the Lady Force of Charter School of Wilmington to a 54-49 win over the Lady Hawks of St. Georges. For the Lady Hawks, so Jinae Leibert led with 14 points.

20 points by sr Taylor Davis and 13 by sr. Ciani Hamilton paced the Lady Bulldogs of Brandywine to a 3rd place finish in the AI DuPont Basketball Classic as they defeated the Lady Warriors of Wilmington Christian School by a 63-44 score. 8th grader Sha Nia Davis led with 23 points.

In the title game of the 2015 AI DuPont Christmas Basketball Tournament the Lady Tigers of Alexis I DuPont won the championship round behind the 16 point performance each by jr Lauren Griffin and jr Al’Kira Wilson as they defeated the Lady Hornets of Tatnall by a 47-33 score. The Lady Hornets were led by so Kennedy Brown with 10 points.

The Hun School out of Lawrenceville, NJ defeated the Lady Cardinals of St. Andrews by a 42-34 score. sr. Olivia Gumbs led the Lady Cards with 24 points.

In the final championship round of the Art Turner Tipoff Classic 21 points by fr Olivia Tucker and 15 by Lauren Park paced the Lady Warriors of Sanford School to a 65-32 win over The Miller School.

The Lady Rams beat Delcastle to win the Championship of the 15th Annual Lady Rams Winter Classic Tournament. so Lynnjay Brown led the Rams with 30 points, including two 3 pointers and 8 assists. so Tah’Jae Rogers and sr Bryonna Joyner scored in double figures with 15 and 11 points respectively.
sr Ny Matthews had 11 points for the Lady Cougars, and both she and sr Danielle Harris were named to the All-Tournament Team.
Lynnjay Brown and Davashaye Jones were named to the All-Tournament team for Dickinson.

DMA Seahawks defeated Wilmington Christian Warriors in DSAC game. Seahawks were led by jr Justin Broccoli with 17 points and 10 rebounds, sr Trevor Hill added 12 points and 9 rebounds. jr Connor Gee chipped in 13 points with a clutch 3 pointer and sr Paul Wolfe added 8 points and 15 rebounds. Freshman Max Ferrante led the Warriors with 20 points while so Daniel Berg added 10 points and sr Austin Harris chipped in with 9 points.

jr Henry Nesmith led the Bucs with 24 points 11 points by jr Devon Kravitz. For the Blue Raiders jr TeVion Waters led with 12.

Brown had 7 three pointers for the game. Wilmington Christian guards Sha'Nia Davis and Christina Bourantas combined for 27 points and forward Janae Carter had 12 points. Davashaye Jones had 14 rebounds for the LadyRams, who improved to 7-1 on the season.

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ - The Iona College men's basketball team dropped a 79-75 decision at Rider in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play at Alumni Gymnasium. A strong second half allowed the home team to erase an eight-point halftime deficit in the win. Senior A.J. English scored a game-high 27 points in the loss.

English shot 8-of-21 from the field with a three-point field goal and a 10-for-12 effort from the foul line. He added six rebounds, five assists and three steals in 37 minutes. Three other Gaels had double-digit scoring totals with sophomore Deyshonee Much's 14, graduate Aaron Rountree's 11 and senior Isaiah Williams' 10 points. Rountree led the Gaels with seven rebounds, four steals and four blocks. Both Williams and Much added five rebounds. Senior Ibn Muhammad contributed nine points for the Maroon & Gold.

Rider had five performers in double-figures with senior Teddy Okereafor netting 23 points, six boards and five assists. Zedric Sadler scored all 13 of his points in the second half. Khalil Alford had 12 points and Kahlil Thomas and Shawn Valentine recorded 10 apiece.

The Gaels are back in action Friday at the Hynes Center when they host Saint Peter's.

Girls Semi Final FYI

Ursuline defeated Concord 40-35 no details provided. In the other semi final game the Lady Warriors of Sanford behind the 18 points performance of sr. Chrishayanah Austin defeated the Conrad Lady Redskins by a 65-37 score. sr. Taylor Samuels contributed with 13 points and 10 by fr Samantha Pollich. The Lady Redskins were led by 8th grader Alyssa Faville with 18 points a good effort and season for the Lady Redskins.

Boys Semi Finals FYI

27 points by jr Kyson Rawls, 10 by sr. Paul Brown paced the Hawks of St. Georges to a 60-57 win over the Cougars of Delcastle. The Cougars were led by sr. Juwan Ward and sr. Desmond Gould each with 16 points and 11 by sr. Muhammad Hussein. St. Georges appears in their second boys basketball final their first since 2013.
