4. St. Georges
5. Penn
6. Smyrna
7. St. E's
8. St. Mark's
9. Sallies
10. Milford
11. St. Thomas More
12. Woodbridge
13. Delcastle
14. Appo
15. Cape

17. Laurel
18. Concord
19. Glasgow
20. Tatnall

23. Middletown
24. Howard

I would like to see Glasgow and Howard get in I got a feeling Caravel might sneak in the bottom seeds are really tight

Here's what I have. WinP is points for wins. ISBP is in-state bonus points. OSBP is out-of-state bonus points.

@HoopCulture13 I would say pretty accurate @bluecat4ever had it on the money last year

I wanted to see Glasgow get in I thought they would have a good chance winning a first round game. Them and howard our so close, losing that Newark game pretty much knocked them out of it

Sussex Central is 7-13, no way they were getting in.

That's a tough break for Glasgow though, I was afraid that Newark game was going to cost them.

@bluecat4ever i see a few teams points and game index are identical like Mount, Smyrna, and St George's are a 3 way tie. Also Ceasar Rodney, Howard, and Glasgow are a 3 way tie how do you determine the tie breakers?

Go blue raiders

Time to play

Central had 9 seniors and thought they were in....guess I got bad info...I only follow the west side of Sussex

Yet cape has game

So if Glasgow has 11 wins and Cesar Rodney only 8 wins and both teams have the same point index... How can Glasgow be out?

Tiebreakers go like this...

1) head to head if only two teams are tied and they played each other
2) common opponents for two or more teams tied (i.e. if Team A went 4-1 against common opponents while Team B went 3-2, Team A gets tie-breaker)
C) strength of schedule (that's why Glasgow appears to be out. Their strength of schedule is worse than CR's and Howard's)

Ok I see. Thank you. It's a shame the team finished 2nd in their conference while winning 11 games. Maybe next year...

Basically, the system rewards playing tough opponents instead of racking up wins against poor teams.
System rewards teams for scheduling tough opponents even if they lose to every one of those tough opponents by 100 points. Rewarding a team for getting their a$$ handed to them, never sat well with me.

Bluecat, can you tell me, are you awarded more points for beating a poor quality opponent, or for losing to a quality opponent?

The strength of schedule/point system is great for kids & teams long term development because it rewards challenge. You don't get better without getting out your comfort zone. This year it was great to see Sanford beat Chester & almost take down national power house La Lamiere. Appo, St. E, Sal, mt. Pleasant, St. Georges also did well against out of state appoinents. I think If funding is avaiable every team should take a road trip out of state each year & at least play in some regional tournaments. If we went the other way on w/L records delaware would be knocked into the bball dark ages and the state would be overran with delusional kids and coaches.

From the manual:

The following point index system will be used to select the at
large teams and to seed the first two rounds:

1.Two (2) points for each win during the regular season.

2.One (1) bonus point for playing a team whose final regular season record is .501OR ABOVE regardless of which team won.

3.Two (2) bonus points for playing a team whose final regular season record is .701 OR ABOVE regardless of which team won.

4.A team will receive 4 points fora win against an opponent whose final regular season record is .701 OR ABOVE and will receive2 points for a losing to that team.

5.A team’s point index will be determined by dividing the total number of points earned by the number of regular season
games played.

One of the issues with the system is it rewards playing teams with "perceived" strength of schedule. For instance, anyone who played Mckean received a bonus point, but Mckean's 10-8 record didn't even get them into the top 31.
