D2 should be Milford , IR. , DMA , St Georges , Caravel , last one is a toss up laurel , Woodbridge , Friends , Hodgson

Here's a wrench thrown in for D2. Dover beat Milford 40-39. Dover beat Sanford 40-38. What does that mean when teams are being selected.?

Don't think its much of a wrench. Not sure why someone would think they wouldn't be in. I would say they are a solid 4 in d-2

Going back and looking at more results...this is going to come down to point differentials for last spot.

Woodbridge has a 3pt head to head win over Lake. @Caravel Wednesday.

Friends 73 pt loss to IR. (Only team in contention.)
Glasgow 24pt loss to HVT, 39pt loss to Laurel
DMA 47 pt loss to st georges, 22pt loss to Sallies. Remaining matches -DMA is @Lake on Tues. & @Sanford Wednesday.
HVT is -21 vs Caravel, -50 vs. Lake, -30 vs DMA (HVT is out.)
Caravel 16pt win over Lake, 21pt win over HVT, 9pt loss vs Laurel. Vs Woodbridge this Wednesday.
Sanford is 2-3 with all 3 losses coming to D1 teams in contention -Central -57, Cape -38, Dover -2. Key match vs DMA Wednesday. 2 wins vs FSMA and Red Lion.

Will continue later...

A friend told me that McDonough is healthy and has been practicing, theres a rumor going around that hes dropping to 138..that would be a huge plus for sanford.

Select tournaments containing multiple in state participants. I believe tournament placings are used in state dual applications to support a teams qualifications for seeding particularly in case no head to head.

Looking at William Penn, then have finished behind Polytech -83.5 at the Polytech Tournament and -48.5 at the Yellowjacket Invitational. Polytech is currently 0-5 in Henlopen North with losses to Central, Smyrna, CR, Dover, Cape.

Could we be looking at 5 teams from Henlopen along with Sallies?

Also WP was down all of their football players for both of those tournaments if I remember correctly.

Laurel, Caravel, DMA, Sanford??

I think Caravel may be odd team out. They can make it interesting by beating Woodbridge. What about Woodbridge? Should they be in the conversation?

Woodbridge is the #4 ranked Henlopen South team. I'm looking at DMA, Sanford & Caravel to vie for the final 2 spots. I think Woodbridge may be on the outside looking in but the Wednesday matchup with Caravel could determine otherwise. If Woodbridge wins, I say it gives them a strong argument.

Sanford's schedule really messes this up since they will have only wrestled 1 decent team in D2 vs. DMA on Wednesday. If DMA wins, then Sanford could be held out of the tournament due to not having enough in state competition for a true comparison. Their 2 point loss though to Dover is a thorn in the side of the committee.

I think this D2 scenario will be more clear after Wednesday.

any think blue hen and independent should send 5 kids to states instead of the blue hen sending 6 and independent sending 4

No. We have gone through this before and BH5/6 do pretty much the same as I4 at states. Personally I could care less since most BH6 and I4 don't win a match at states now that it's seeded properly. I'll probably run a report after states this year so we can see again how they all make out at states since the topic has been brought up again.

Yeah. It's not a talent thing, it's sheer numbers. Henlopen and BH have a lot more wrestlers than Indy. That's why it's built that way. Talent should be up and down in the Conferences, even though we know it's been up in Henlopen for a long time.

But wouldn't it make the 5th 6th place matches more competitive, Henlopen obviously runs supreme, but in honest opinion I don't think Blue Hen is better than Independent most independent schools. Old blue hen powerhouses like Hodgson has been on the decline. Charter next year is also moving to independent leaving from Blue Hen

5th & 6th place matches at States? or in the conference meets? The 5th place kid in the Indy conf would likely get the #1 or #2 at states. The idea gives a kid the opportunity to wrestle at States, which is awesome, but he would also have a quick exit..

Blue hen has had 6 qualifiers from before we had Hodgson, St George's, Appo and Charter (leaving)but never asked for more qualifiers. All of a sudden Indy adds a few teams and wants more qualifiers. We've never gotten and extra bid when we added teams. Also look at some of the teams rosters for both conferences, many are partial teams. I will try once states are over to come up with some stats to show you how they do.

@concord..
like beating a dead horse!
haa
1 year from now you will be beating again...
I hear ya! We've done the numbers so many times that it makes my head spin! It's a numbers thing, but talent level is almost always equal with BH5/6 vs I4. Some people are getting worried that little Johnny who is an I4 won't qualify next year by adding charter.

8th grader from Conrad went as I4 last year and made second day. But I agree, it's very rare.

From what I've heard Charter will be thin next year. Heavy Senior presence on the roster.
