Caruso over Hayes, it allowed Natarcola an easier road to a championship.what are some of the biggest upsets in your opinion that happened at states?
Anyone other ones?Caruso over Hayes, it allowed Natarcola an easier road to a championship.
Boy someone did a lot of work . To prove....? We already knew down state is better at this point. Enjoy it now, cause up-state seems to be picking up interest again.Henlopen was dominant with 19 in the finals and 19 in the consolation finals.

There are already plans in the works with some very good coaches helping to improve wrestling at the middle school level in NCC. That's where we are getting left behind. We have some good youth programs and clubs that I know we are starting to benefit from more and more each year. In the 80's, 90's and early 2000's it was upstate that dominated and now it's henlopen. Things change and in the years to come I'd expect to see improvements upstate. It doesn't happen overnight but the issue is being addressed!I think we can enjoy it now and for years to come. I don't see upstate wrestling improving at the high school level. I know all programs have up and downs. But with St. Marks in the condition they are in and Sallies having a good team but not like years past, I just don't see the overall improvement. There are very talented kids spread out over the area but as far as overall and team wise I just don't see it.
Can someone pull stats from 90s and 2000s when independent and Blue Hen dominated? I am sorry but it is getting a little disheartening with the amount of gloat I see from henlopen. Yes, you are currently the dominant conference...but in the 80s and early mid 90s it was Blue Hen and in the late 90s and 2000s it was independent. During those times I did not see statistical information being brought up showing the dominance and I didn't hear any talk of switching qualifiers because of it etc. In Delaware the change of power happens every 7 to 10 years or so. That's how it is in our state having only 3 conferences; it is what it is. So enjoy it now as independent and blue hen did during their times of dominance because it will change as history has shown.

No. 195 was laughable. No offense but I saw better semis at every in season tournament we attendee. Can't believe how everyone ran from Wuest! Guess that's a compliment. No big surprises. At 120 Hayes was bound to make a mistake eventually just stinks it was at states, at 126 novarnick didn't realize he was losing. Ref gave 1 stall and one escape at same time and kid didn't know. Felt sorry for the young man. 113 Robbie struggled against lesser opponents early on but dominated in the finals! 160 just wow!any other big surprises of people medaling? Springer not medaling surprised me
I believe Hudson dropped to 182 at Battle at the Beach when Wright came back. Pretty sure it was a move for the team to win a state title and he stayed there.Hudson, Clayton and miller were all 195 at the beginning of the season.
It looked to me like the stalling call came as Novarnik was releasing him to prevent the stalling call. They came so close together I don't know that he or the coaches realized right away he was trailing. When time ran out it looked like he was putting his foot on the line for OT.that was the strangest match of all time Novarnick and Muaka i really wanted to witness that stratton Novarnick match, but that Muaka match was just as entertaining
