When is enough going to be enough? Why the hell with all our technology and resources we can't attack and win this? I am so tired of seeing lives ruined and losing good young people to this disease...New Castle County and Elkton has a major epidemic going on and no one can seem to stop it,, I am so tired of reading stories or my wife telling me of another kid lost to this.. Yet the leaders are all arguing over politics and being blue or red...

Just my 2 cents, you can take places down state also. Remember when some of those places had good teams.

William Penn HS ?

dove, just read the obits in this mornings News Journal or any other day for that matter. As you know there are a lot of young people dying. Horrible. My thoughts and prayers are with all of these families.

ra2 kind of mean drugs are the whole state. And some of those once good teams aren't good any longer because of.

The quoted reference mentioned William Penn H.S. Since this is an athletics website I thought he was referring to someone playing sports for Wm Penn. I agree. It is a serious problem and getting worse. Fifty years ago, teens were addicted to tobacco. Now they are abandoning smokes for something much worse.

A very good friend of mine lost his youngest daughter to addiction last May.. She was so young and had a 2 yr old boy. Her story and stories like Tyler Keister have to be told...even if helps one other young person struggling.. Ive seen this disease just tear up too many people and families..Seems lately those in Govt are focused on other things when in my opinion this is the number one problem in this country. This time of year is very difficult for folks and bringing awareness to someone who may be in trouble can save a life

He's referring to a former WP athlete who graduated last year.

I don't know what happened to him or know him.The obit says he passed in his sleap.. out of respect I won't or can't speculate. I do know the family is in dire need of donations for the funeral. There is a Gofundme page for those that want to help.. I would post the link but I am not sure they would be ok with that since I don't know them. Should be easy to find though

I was referring more to some of my friends and people I know facebook pages turning into memorials for their lost ones this time of year

This is everywhere. It is brutal and brings me to tears. I honestly don't know of anyone who has not been touched by this epidemic in one way or another.
