All State this year?

Any predictions about 1st and 2nd teams?

I saw Sallies and Tower Hill play more then anyone else this year and I was most impressed with Pettit and Robino and the goalie Murray from TH. No one compare to Kilpatrick on D. I also liked the play of Salvitti at middie and Blundin and Cowen on attack.

Ripley Nielson and Trip Ashley are also very good players from Tower Hill and should get some kind of all state. Idk about no one comparing to Kilpatrick, Mark Cyron (All-American last year) is pretty good too.

Attack- Robino(great shot, stick work), Steele(all around great player), Blundin(Leads sallies attack) Petit is a toss up just because hes young(i think)

Mid- Kelly(obivously), Salvitti(great all around player for sals), Pierce(more consistant then matsko) Maybe cowan as well but not a huge threat.

Defense- Kilpatrick(Solid pole, already looks college ready), Cyron(easy pick, great stick), Kelly(Great feet and stick), Voss(great LSM) Some might want Zaldivir in there but i feel like there are better poles then him.

Goalie-Rodgers(great all around goalie, clears, saves etc.)
Some say allender but from what i see makes some great saves but lts a couple easy in and clearing is off a little. Or Murray but same with him clearing is a huge part of the game and even though he picked it up form last year.

salvtti along with nielsen and mcgreevy all did better then matsko, he is a great player but did not do enough for 1st or even 2nd team all state...alot of good poles i thought the st andrews poles were good also along with cryon kilpat z kelly tripashley...no hoffstadt??? kelley should be a lock

im not sure about cowin though, hes a solid player but havent seen him do to too much..feel like the surrounding cast at sals makes him seem better then he is..just me though..thoughts?

i agree with delax about cowan..big physical presence but not first team material..maybe 2nd or third though..i disagree with mester however..pierce put up consistent numbers against every team St. A's played with no help on offense, many of the other players on the list had great role players around them..Trip ashley deserves first team, and not that Voss does not because he is a great player but i think trip is simply a better all around.

Attack: Pettit is a good player, but I would take some other players over him at 1st team attack. I would take Hoffstadt (CR), Michalowski (Charter), Beer (Tatnall), and maybe even Salmons (Friends) over Pettit.

Midfield: I can see Pierce over Matsko, also Pierce had tougher competition in the Independent Conference. McGreevy (St Marks) had a nice season and will probably get recognition at 3rd team or HM, but Matsko is a better player. At times, he kept CR in games by putting his team on his back. Cowan IMO will probably get 3rd team.

Defense: Trip Ashley (TH) or Russell Train (St Andrews) would probably get it before Zaldivar would.

Goalie: On 2nd thought, I'll take Allendar. He led Archmere to almost upsetting Tower Hill on Saturday. I think almost everyone will agree Rodgers has a much stronger defense at Sallies than Allendar at Archmere as well. From what I've seen of Allendar, never saw clearing as a problem. On the other hand, I thought it was one of his strong points.

disab? idk the others always overshadow him, hes never covering the best player and i think he has much less of an impact than people like ashley, train, mcdonald, kilpat, cyron etc...theres a ton of great defensive players in the state this year to be honest

Disab is good but not good like other poles in the state. And to Alaxer46. Allender did keep them in that game a lone. yes they beat st andrew and barley beat friends because of him but when it came to bigger games (other then saturday) he did not preform. Watched him play sallies and thill the first times and st marks and charter. who i think sallies thill and cape could/did handle. just might POV. i think rodgers or murray over allender.

Allender is not the only player on Archmere. They were not the #4 team in the state this year solely because of their goalie. Discrediting their team in that way is pretty low.
And 1 goal games are still wins - barely beating is still a win. thlax12, giving up 12 to Sallies does not equal lack of performance. From what I remember Sallies scored 11 on Tower Hill correct?

i think everyone is missing sallies best attackman. dillon walker (soph) leads sallies attack from x. stepping into big shoes replacing 4 time all stater brandon groux. dwalk has done an amazing job this year getting his fare share of goals as well as dishing out as close to as many dimes. blundin is good but could become great when he can create his own time and space to release that cannon.

dillon walker is a great player, but he doesnt really create for himsell, he doesnt dodge alot at all. he scores on alot of transition and he has a nice shot, but i would not take him as all state

I think Walker deserves all state. He's sallies biggest threat I think, and hard to guard one on one.

Stop it. Did you just see the game yesterday I'll give it to you he only scored on transition but he dodges all the time from x. Dillion walker in my opinion in sallies biggest treat as a play maker on there attack.

I agree that D Walker is a very good player. Great at controlling the ball, passing and ground balls. Most d-poles have had trouble disrupting his play. Would likely score more goals on a team with fewer scoring options. I believe he scored 3 or 4 against Friends last night. I haven't seen enough of the schools below the canal to know if Walker warrents a position on one of the all state teams. I would have no complaints if he was chosen though.

hes sallies do everything man from what ive seen. everything from full feild settled clears to their main man dodging from the top. just a work horse. like you said doesnt need to stand out that much on such a well rounded offense

IMO, dillon walker is no better than other star sophomores in the state such as revak (arch), garahan (arch), and pettite (Thill....3 goals in championship game). to be honest, those 3 are better in my opinion because they do not have the same support that walker has, i think people will understand that more as all 4 of these players progress in the next 2 seasons.

dwalk is the best sophomore in the state. He was the only complete attackman on the team. But no one is giving love to that lefty attackman he has a great shot. I also think no one gives love to the sals midline they have a ton of depth and did a lot of the scoring.

Dillon is not the best sophmore in the state, i agreee with alaxfan6, and noone is saying he cant shoot, hes a good role player on a good team. he doesnt create for himself though, other people on his team do that for him, and blundin is the best attackman on sallies.

Why is there all this love for Dillon Walker? He's a good player, but he was not the only complete attackman on Sallies. Blundin hello? Blundin is not only better offensively - ALWAYS draws the best defenseman, better shot, a more dangerous dodger - he was the best offensive threat that Sallies had this year. Walker is a good player, but I agree with others in that he is a very good role player on Sallies. On other teams he would probably excel where he would probably go one on one more often, but on Sallies, Blundin IS their guy who goes one on one. Blundin also rides like crazy, something that doesn't stand out in Walker's game.

I would also take Greg Brenn, the other attackman for Sallies, over Walker.

Walker's a good, young player who will develop into a fine player, but right now, I don't think he is "the only complete attackman on Sallies." As for All-State? I predict HM or 3rd team at the most.

Committee meets tomorrow night.. Any last predictions?
