Delaware athletic association to examine schools use of ineligible player, number change (DE online, News Journal)

Can DMA possibly keep Lincoln after all this?

There is definitely going to be some fallout from this as well as pressures from the court of public opinion. What about from the parents of the school and not just the football ones. It's all been stained.
Nope they will fire him and he will be the scapegoat allowing Jean to save face

This is the same AD at Glasgow that played Varsity kids on the Unified special needs basketball team! Said they would forfeit the game when confronted during the game at Mount Pleasant. They played the game out for the sake of the athletes and then the next day said it technically was not wrong because it didn't specify clearly, blah blah. The fact that he led the board with the people judging him should make everyone go hmmmm
DMA and the recruiting claims go hand in hand with the leadership. Poaching active coaches now too......

Does the suspension include practices? Team events? Etc?

It should. Just curious who’s overseeing that if that’s the case. The AD? Hahaha.
This is from the DIAA manual:

2.3.2.2 A disqualified player or coach shall not be physically present at any contest in that sport during the suspension.

2.3.2.2.1 The coach or player shall not be present at any game-related activities immediately before the contest, during the intermission, or immediately after the contest. The coach or player must be "out of sight and sound" of the game and game-related activities regardless of whether the coach or player is physically on school premises.

by DIAA rules the suspension should have been for the rest of the 2022/2023 school year. Linc got off light. Well except for the public heat he is going to take.

2.10.5 The intentional use of an ineligible athlete by a Member School or repeated indifference to its responsibility to determine the eligibility of its athletes will subject the school to additional penalties which may include suspension for the amount of days up to length of the school year from the date the charge is substantiated.

2.10.6 If a coach knowingly withholds information or provides false information that causes an athlete to be eligible for interscholastic competition, the coach shall be suspended from coaching in any sport at any DIAA Member School for the amount of days up to length of the school year from the date the charge is substantiated.

That is regarding an ejection or DQ those are automatic... A DIAA Board suspension is for all coaching activities.

The AD said at least a dozen times that he did not want to use a player's name, then referenced 'BJ' 5 different times. Thats one dude that has nothing to do with anything. Darn shame.
Players/Kids are no fools. Yes, some will rally, and rah-rah we need to stick together, and they as players/team should.
There are some quality young men on that team. How long they will stay?

Regardless, if D3 Linc stays long term or not, the players are out! Nor should they be penalized to transfer.
I don't care what grade they are in. If they had nothing to do with this, and their 'leadership' made these calculated judgements, they (the players) should have the opportunity to transfer anywhere they can.

Seems like the guys and gals on this board knew nothing from the start. We didn't see this coming say 20 months ago!?!? (Man did you all nail this from the jump)

Now DMA - Do The Right Thing. There is nothing to think about, and decide what is right, or "lets talk to our lawyers."
Be precise, be clear, be public and move forward. You will gain the respect of your community a whole heck of lot sooner, then trying to figure it out, and waiting.

D3Linc will have a job in a week (not in DE), but he will. Community needs action, young men need direction!

Peace and Love

The #4 was mentioned and also mentioned in the wdel article above. Everyone in the state who follows Delaware high school football knows who #4 is/was. The whole nonsense about this number and that number vs name on official roster etc, in the testimony by Linc and the AD was ridiculous.. I don't think most the board bought it either.

Exactly. One freshman plays JV. The other is a 6’2” highly touted QB with a few D1 offers already.

Linc knew who the player suspended was supposed to be. Why he was in violation of this rule and really the DIAA suspension should have followed the rule as written that they found him guilty of. He should have been suspended for the rest of the school year no question. No need to vote on how long to suspend it's there in the rule in black and white. Only vote on this rule should have been guilty or not guilty.

He should be fired the repetitive bullshit from him - this, recruiting, etc - is out of hand. Personally I think the AD is implicated as well but DMA patents love him. DMA should jus5 clean the slate and can both.

Yeah I believe the AD is complicit in this for sure. I agree and like I said earlier DMA could have avoided this hearing, news articles and all the mess had they fired him right when they found out he played an ineligible player and got out in front of all this and said this won't be tolerated here and moved on. They certainly would have more respect as an institution than what they will have now.

By the way I keep seeing "IF" DMA makes playoffs. There is no if they are already in being 3-0 in their district. Top 4 in district get in. They may finish 3rd or 4th but definitely in. Even if they lose the rest of their reg season games.
