AI/DMA game

Let's get it correct. After the game without shaking hands with DMA, ended the entire AI team sprinted upstairs & they were restrained by off-duty police, parents, & there own coaches. There were at least a dozen police called to the scene to.
@Filmore Restrained for what? Were they running around beating people up? Again they were frustrated by the officiating and they handled their emotions all wrong. But again nobody was hurt they just carried themselves wrong and they should be dealt with for that BUT not like this

Ok and who told the kids not to shake the opposing teams hands?? The coach!! And now who looks bad?? The players!! Smh

Where were DMA's locker rooms located at???? Upstairs... they had to go through an angry mob of "parents" and students! This forum is thee worst!!

@dnell I'm not worried about any man to man conversation with you. I'm just saying I find it strange how you think DIAA would nuts cancel their season for no reason. The fact that they had to step in and do this speaks for that program. No control over anything there, I get it ask the kids their story and whatever but the reason the season is cancelled is because of the kids actions after that game.
Because I know the mind state of the people who sit behind it. Thats why. Now heres the million dollar question was there anything action taken against DMA? This is NOT a one sided affair. No control over anything there? Smh Man you make it sound like these kids are a gang or something listen to yourself.......

The cops were called to escort AI becuase of the mob... what is wrong with you people!

Also I agree that there needs to be a change of leadership their coaches does not have what it takes to lead young men. That much I agree on BUT again I say I just think the punishment could have been handled a whole nother way......

So I say they need a change over because they don't have any control for anything at AI and you assume I think every kid there is in a gang? But this guy said the same thing and it's an excellent idea and you agree with him. Listen to yourself dude I don't agree with how DIAA stepped in right away but this coach had ZERO control of his team. The first thing AI should of done was let him go right away.

Ok so you agree then that this decision is wrong. There defiantly needs to be some changes and some lessons needs to be taught but just not the way they are doing it

You know what interesting? These behaviors would end up in suspensions from school, in the "public" school where I teach. I can also tell you the same behaviors would get you removed the team I coach and our basketball team. Remember the punch that was missed by the officials, and the player getting thrown to the floor at the other end? If my FACTS are correct, that player was ejected. AI got beat on the court, by DIAA, their administration, in the publics opinion, and forfeited their last game. The teams antics remind me of Appo back in the English days. Clean it up and move on.

SMH once your speaking one sided.....There will be no life lesson from this. There will be hate from this. You just can't seem to understand that

No players from either side were ejected in that game.... where all these so called facts coming from????

So if incident happens after the game . . . NO Problem NO Foul . . . Allout11 and AJoi please if you just joined the board to defend AI your not going to get sympathy here, Go air your complaints to the principal or school board or DIAA . . . .

Im not I've been on this board. Again you are missing the whole point. BOTH parties are in the wrong here. AI maybe a lil more than DMA the point is get down to the facts punish those involved apologize and try to move on. To make it one sided will only breed hate from this situation. The dominoes have already begun to fall the coach has already resigned.........

dnell, There is always a life lesson, I tell my kids:
1) Life not fair . . . . .
2) It's not what happens to you it's your response that defines you . . . . .
3) Only wary about the things you can control . . . .
4) If you think 2 and 3 are unfair see rule # 1 . . . .

STOP ENABLING ! ! !

Its funny how people get on here and bash us about wat we say... But the whole time reading everything we say..smh

Once again, if this situation breeds hate then where are the adults in these young men's life. Instead of complaining on a public forum use this to teach the kids about team accountability and awareness. It's not about hate it's about consequences. You can't settle disputes with threats of violence, the coach needs to do a better job of gaining his players trust, respect and authority when it comes to facing adversity. The parents need to do the same, it starts at home. Maybe the DIAA did react quickly but I guarantee they had more information than all of us and not just from this game the entire season. Look a part of me feels bad for the kids especially the seniors but hopefully they realize their is a real lesson to be learned here and next time they are in a hostile environment they will react differently.

"There will be hate" why? Cause the AI players did wrong & they can't get there way? Something to do with race? If the players and there parents realize they messed up. Own up to it & don't let it happen again. Life lesson. As an AA, I'm tired of all the excuses being made for our youth now a day. If my son was any part of actions like those of the AI players, in addition to consequence at school he'd also have consequences at home. Stop with all the excuse and enabling for our youth. Regardless of there background. Accountability needs to take presidence

A.I. boys forfeit
The A.I. du Pont boys basketball team has forfeited Tuesday’s scheduled regular-season finale against No. 1 Smyrna following two incidents at Delaware Military Academy last Thursday.

“We’re investigating it with our kids,” A.I. athletic director Mark Alley said Friday. “There was an issue with some of our basketball players and their actions.”

An A.I. player was ejected during DMA’s 58-46 victory. Then after the game, a brief scuffle reportedly broke out involving A.I. players and fans. Alley said school administrators are reviewing tape of the incidents and will talk with players when school resumes Tuesday.

The forfeit leaves Smyrna with an 18-2 record, while A.I. drops to 11-9. The Tigers are likely to qualify for the 24-team DIAA Boys Basketball Tournament, but Alley said the school may decide to not participate.

“There’s a good possibility our team is going to also pull out of the tournament, but we don’t know at this point,” Alley said. “It’s still under investigation.”

Tommie Neubauer, executive director of the Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association, said DIAA received a report on the ejection on Friday.

“We allow the local school to handle it first, and then we assess anything after that,” Neubauer said. “So right now, this is an A.I. du Pont situation. And from what I understand, from everything given to me, they are fully aware of what has happened.”

Good Grief! Thats how it is now I guess... If things don't go your way protest.. SMH.. No accountability

AI would be stupid to let them play now. Would set a very bad precedent and they would have kids protesting everything they don't like at the school..world has gone mad
